# Spectra for AI agents

> Ask Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another AI assistant about Spectra's fixed rates, markets, MetaVaults and your positions. They read live data from Spectra's hosted MCP server, with no account or API key. The server never signs or sends anything.

## Endpoints

- Read-only: https://mcp.spectra.finance/mcp (Markets, yields, MetaVaults, wallet positions, rate history and the docs)
- With transaction builders: https://mcp.spectra.finance/mcp/trade (The same, plus unsigned PT buy, sell and redeem transactions for your wallet to sign)

Use the read-only endpoint unless you want the assistant to prepare transactions.

Choose Add, then Add custom MCP server. Name it Spectra, paste the read-only URL, set authentication to No authentication and create it. Then type @Spectra in a chat.

### Cursor

Add a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP) with the read-only URL and no authentication, or use this config. To run the server on your computer instead, use the npm package (Node.js 20 or later).

## What it can do

- Find and compare fixed rates, LP and MetaVault yields across networks
- Read a market's fixed, variable and LP APY, maturity, liquidity and rate history
- Read a MetaVault's curator, strategy, APYs and allocations
- Show a wallet's PT, YT, LP and MetaVault positions
- Explain how Spectra works, with links to the docs
- On the transaction endpoint only: prepare unsigned transactions to buy, sell or redeem PT

## Safety

- **Never signs or sends.** Transaction tools return steps for your wallet to sign.
- **Spectra routers only.** Transactions are built only for the Spectra router of each network, and quotes far from the market's PT price are refused.
- **Exact approvals.** Token approvals cover the exact amount, and none is requested when your allowance already covers it.
- **No tokenized equities.** Tokenized-equity markets are not offered.

## Notes

Rates are percentages, with the time they were read. A fixed APY holds only if you keep the Principal Token to maturity, barring [negative yield](https://docs.spectra.finance/docs/spectra/security/risk-documentation#negative-yield-risk) in its yield source; selling earlier gives the market price at that time. AI assistants can make mistakes: check the market in the Spectra app (https://app.spectra.finance) before you sign a transaction.
